Udhauli Marked
KATHMANDU, DEC 05 - Sunuwar, one of Nepal’s indigenous Kirati communities, observed the last day of Syader Sili, popularly known as Udhauli, in Lalitpur’s Balkumari on Saturday. The festival, which celebrated the harvest of paddy at the end of the season, is the biggest festival celebrated by the community.
“Our aim is to create awareness and pass on the culture and customs of the Kirati people to younger generations, who will continue to preserve and promote it,� said Tek Bahadur Sunuwar, Chairman of the Sunuwar Sewa Samaj, an organiser of the event.
